I panicked, and even thought of contacting the supplier of my laptop for the warranty of this thing. I tried to put my external hard drive and yet it cant be detected. The error message is being shown: "WinAVI.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience" I have tried everything and I mean everything to resolve this problem. I even tried other converters,  but it doesnt surpass the great functionality of winavi. Until i searched a forum discussing the problem. Its not a big forum only few answers the problem same as mine. The solution is re-installing the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack or install this in your computer. It's free in selected sites. Some codecs are needed to use the winavi converter. In my situation, some of my codecs are corrupted so i have to re-install it. If the problem still persist maybe you have to send a bug report to the winavi hotline in their website.
